When I try to open any existing C# solution/project, I get the following message:

    Package Load Failure

Package 'Language Package' has failed to load properly ( GUID =

{E444C1DD-7C8E-4126-81C8-392C63BFEBE3}. Please contact package vendor for assistance.

Application restart is recommended, due to possible environment corruption. Would you like to disable loading this package in the future?  You may use 'devenv /resetskippkgs' to re-enable package loading.

VS2005 displayed several other package related errors when I opened a project that accessed SQL Server databases.  They were related to ReportingServices and Data Management?

Most worrisome is when I click on the Tools\Options menu option, the dialog shows a "+" plus sign with a BLANK description next to it.  When I open this and click on one of the two BLANK options below it, I get another package load failure for:

Data Warehouse VSIntegration Layer GUID={4A0C6509-BF90-43DA-ABEE-0ABA3A8527F1}. I'm not using Data warehousing now, but may in the near future.

I've completely uninstalled VS2005 and everything that gets installed with it.  I've also run a repair installation.  Neither of these processes fixed the problems.

Regardless, I'd like to find out what is causing this and what can be done to correct it.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Today I faced exactly the same problem.

It appeared after I tried to uninstall the WebClientSoftwareFactory and got huge problems so I had to manually clean registry values in order to complete uninstallation and install a new version of WCSF. Finally WCSF-June2007 was installed, but the mentioned problem is still active.

It's possible that I delete something important from the registry, so I'd like to know what should I check and fix.

    Thanks a lot!

    Best regards, Oleg

Here's a solution found somewhere in the inet.

Visual Studio Menu -> Tools -> Import and Export Settings -> Reset all settings
