I have uninstalled VS11 Dev Preview and then installed VS11 Beta
Every time I launch it I get:
---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
Driver TestingCould not load test information. Error: Method not found: 'WEX.TestExecution.Node WEX.TestExecution.Tom.Load(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable`1<System.String>)'..
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Any clue?

Hello sba,
Do you mean you have successfully installed VS11 Beta and when open it you get the above error, or actually you don't get it installed succussfully when you lauch the installer you get the above error?
If your scenario is the first option I mentioned above, I think that maybe there is something goes wrong during your installation. Please try to repair it or have a lean new installation for it.
If your scenario is the second one, I think you need to make sure that you get the VS11 Beta installer from Microsoft official site here:
http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/11/en-us/downloads#ultimate
And please also make sure the operation system you are working on is supported to install VS11 Beta.
Thanks.

Hi Vicky,
I have succesfully installed VS11 beta from the official download, after I had first uninstalled the Dev Preview.
Everything works like a charm except that I get this error message everytime I start up VS11.
I'm running 64-bit Win 7 Pro.

Sba,
I think this issue would benefit from more directed VS11 support, available here (link below). Please consider opening a free support case via that avenue to get this figured out.

I sort of understand the rationale, but it seems Microsoft is not consistent in handling VS11beta issues:
- the PerfWatson issue in VS11beta *is* discussed in this very forum
- I have opened a Connect case for another VS11beta issue (http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/727586/help-viewer-2-0-beta-update-doesnt-work), and it was closed on Connect because it's [also] discussed in a forum thread
I will open a Connect case for this issue ;-)

Did you have the WDK installed at some time?

Most probably as I wanted to experiment WDK integration, Windbg-within-VS etc.
I haven't uninstalled it when going from VS11DP to VS11beta...

So are you able to fix it by uninstalling WDK?

(Now that I'm back at work I was able to test)
Problem's gone now that I have uninstalled the (DevPreview) Win8 WDK.
Let's hope it won't come back after I install the CP version of the WDK! ;-)
Thx a bunch.
