Hi, I created a tfs project with portal and reporting service. Whebn I go to the portal I get a nice page displaying a page where I have some titles like "remaining hours", Task progress.......... with a an eror message in red indicatiog

Project data is not available at this time, as a result all reports on this dashboard have been hidden......

I doubted this message as I triggered 20 minutes back the "Processwarehouse" web service, I clicked on "Excel Reports", chose Requirements as I was sure that I have entered 10 R, I still get a blank page with a sliverlight green circle with "Loading" word just beside it for more than one hour.

    Hi Eliassal,

    Thanks for your post.

What’s the version of your TFS, VS and SharePoint? And which template you used to create the Team Project.

According your description, the report data can’t display correctly in Team Project portal. In VS>>Team Explorer>>Team Project>>Reports node, try to open the default reports in VS, can open them correctly?

If your TFS is 2010, go to TFS Admin Console>>Application Tier>>Reporting, ensure the Warehouse Database and Analysis Service Database be Configured and Jobs Enabled, and the Report Server be Configured in the right panel.

To manually processing the TFS 2010 Data Warehouse and Analysis Services Database as this detailed steps in this blog: http://blog.accentient.com/2010/04/08/ManuallyProcessingTheTeamFoundationServer2010DataWarehouseAndAnalysisServicesDatabase.aspx

Can you create the new work item in Team Project correctly?

My TFS is 2010, remote sql 2008 R2, Sharepoint 2010. I have 2 projects one with MSF agile 5 the 2nd is with MSF CMMI 5.

When I browse the TFSReports report or open any report in VS ultimate everything goes OK and see the graphs and the tables.

Yes, Analysis and warehous DBs are enabled and jobs are running. As said I triggered processing manually as indictaed in the blog you recommended.

Once thing has changed since yesterday is that the red alert message "Project data is not available at this ........" has disappeared and having on the "Burndown page 4 titles (Task burndown, Task progress, User story progress, 7-day issue trend) displayed, underneath iit a pointed green circle that runs forever with the text "loading" just beside each one of those circles as if it is hung.

    Hi Eliassal,

    Thanks for your reply.

It seems that there have some connection issue between TFS 2010 and SharePoint 2010.

When you create these two Team Projects? Did that reports display correctly in Team Project portal before(maybe some specific operations caused the connection issue)? Or after you created Team Project, the reports never display correctly in Team Project portal? Did there has any error when you creating your Team Project configure with SharePoint site?

Please try to create a new Team Project(configure with SharePoint site) to do a test, ensure without any error during creating it, then check reports in its portal.

Go to TFS Admin Console>>Application Tier>>SharePoint Web Application, select your SharePoint web application which under SharePoint Web Application section, then click Repair Connection, ensure there has no error during repairing.

I also did the "Repair connection" in TFS admin, I got "Reconnect operation succeeded" for all 4 portals. Browsed again 3 portals, I get the exact same behavior.

    Hi Eliassal,

    Thanks for your reply.

Can you create a new work item in Team Project portal correctly? We need to ensure that the Team Project portal can connect to TFS Server.

Did your Team Project portal work fine sometimes before? Or never worked fine when the portal be created?

To integrate SharePoint 2010 with TFS 2010, please refer to this article: http://blog.hinshelwood.com/integrate-sharepoint-2010-with-team-foundation-server-2010/.

Try to create site(nothing relationship with TFS 2010) in your SharePoint 2010, all the feature work fine in this SharePoint site?

Please check the Event Viewer log, if there have some errors relate to this issue, please share the error log here.

    Hi Eliassal,

    Thanks for your reply.

    Have you checked log?

Do you mean that you can create work items in any team project using Team Project portal? Work Item queries can display correctly in Team Project portal?

If there has no any error in event log, and has no any error message on Team Project portal, just display “loading…”, please try to reconfigure SharePoint 2010 for your TFS 2010.

Brad, I read the thread but I don't think it applies to my environment.

I have site at the root (port 80) which is SP 2010, TFS is on 8080 and it has several sites.

    What do you think?

Hi Eliassal, To confirm, you have a site at the root of the Sharepoint site: (For instance Http://myserver brings up a Sharepoint site) You have repaired the Sharepoint site from the TFS Admin console. Can you try the following: Are you using IE8 or 9? If not can you try? On your Internet explorer: 1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. 2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click Settings under Browsing History. 3. In the Settings dialog box, click Every visit to the page, and then click OK. 4. To close the Internet Options dialog box, click OK. Next: There's a "Notification Url" in TFS Management Console. Please check that it is correct. On the Application Tier node click the "Change Urls" and update the Notification Url text box. Once you've done that you might want to force the refresh on the dashboards by using TfsRedirect.aspx: http://server:port/path/to/site/_layouts/TfsRedirect.aspx?tf:Type=ReportList&tf:test=1&tf:clearcache=1 tf:test = 1 will display a debug page with all of the cached values tf:clearcache = 1 will force a refresh of the cache Above, the URL would look like: Http://myWSSsite/sites/team_project_name/_layouts/TfsRedirect.aspx?tf:Type=ReportList&tf:test=1&tf:clearcache=1 When the page comes up, validate that all the values are correct. Thanks, Brad

Nothing so far, as you have seen earlier, it needs a call to MS support which costs a lot of money

No, unfortunatly, after 10 livemeeting sessions with MS support team in Bulgaria, India, talking to 10 MS consultants, they came to the conclusion that incident needs to be archived and I need to re-open this with MS consulting services....!!!!!!!

    OK thanks.

    I'm re-validating everything here.

Tiered install into an existing SP farm.

All accounts \ rights etc as per best practices.

I can see reports directly from URLs, plus in VS.

SP all seems to be working as expected.

    Health check looks good.

    Nothing in event viewer.

    Project creation all fine.

And I have the green circles. Loading...

If I can find a fix. I'll post up here...

I found a blog with an answer that worked for me

    http://sstjean.blogspot.com/2012/04/tfs-2010-with-sharepoint-2010.html

Apparently Sharepoint needs to have a  blank site collection at the root for Excel Services to work properly.... wierd. Hope this work for everyone else.
