Locked TFS-PS sync not working after mapping Area/Iteration

    I have two project collections - each with a single enterprise project / team project mapping.  Both were sync'ing fine until ...

    I wanted to map Area/Iteration on one of the projects so followed the instructions, including the example field maping, here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412658.aspx#dadditional

    Now that project no longer syncs (the other one works fine).  Here is what I get back from /GetSyncMessages for that collection:

    Job extension had an unhandled error:
    System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException:
    No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it <ip address redacted>:80;
    at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress);
    at ...

    I've rebooted both the TFS server and the SharePoint/PS server.  Also, Best Practices Analyzer (August version) is clean on both machines.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Quent, from your e-mail it seems that things were working OK and that right after you mapped areas and iterations sync stopped working. Modifying the mapping should not have caused the error you are seeing as it seems that TFS server is having issues connecting to the Project Server. Can you confirm things were working before? Can you think about anything else that might happen around that time that cause the problem, DNS issues, DHCP issues, Proxy, Firewalls, etc.? Can you go to the TFS server itself and try to navigate to the PWA web page with the same account that is running TFS?

    Thank you.
