We having TFS 2010 server with power tool 2011 disaster recovery

We having TFS 2010 server with power tool 2011

Using TFS power tool for backup. I am testing disaster recovery test on my test virtual machine. I restored the DB backup using power tool. All the DB are available in SQL VM.

To enable TFS site in TFS server. I tried with the Application-Tier only configuration wizard. After verification passed on configure we receiving error like this. “ATOnlyInstall: TF246017: Team Foundation Server could not connect to the database”

 

Please give me some link for restore TFS project and SharePoint 3

site in new hardware using power tool.

Please help.

Thanks for your post.

After you back up TFS 2010 using TFS Power Tools 2011, then you restored the TFS 2010 back up to another SQL Server or instance, or restored in the original SQL Server which your TFS 2010 configured?

If you want backup TFS 2010 using TFS Power Tools and restore to the original SQL Server, please refer to the detailed steps in this article: http://myalmblog.com/2010/09/12/tfs-2010-power-tools-tfs-backup-and-restore-hands-on-lab/.

If you want to backup TFS 2010 and restore to another SQL Server or instance, after restore TFS 2010 database on the new SQL Server, you need to configure the new SQL Server for your TFS 2010, please refer to the detailed steps in this document: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252516.aspx.

 Hi,

 

Now I was trying to restore using SQL DB backup. I fallowed all the instruction from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms253070.aspx.  And to restore instruction from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff459215.aspx. But some instructions are not clear in it.

Like do I have to create a default TFS project and configure share point site or only SP central admin site? And restore the DB.

 Or after restore how to bring the project into TFS.

Please help me to restore TFS server completely in new hardware. (Single deployment restore TFS Project , SharePoint3 sites, SQL Report Service).

Hi Thanks for your kind support. I used TFS Power tool backup DB and restored throw power tool in new hardware. I have created SP administrator canter using same port and configured web application for TFS. And followed the steps from link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404869.aspx that referred by you.
