You can use the instructions shared by Windy => TFS 2010 => http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404868(v=VS.100).aspx

Rather than using Work Item export and Import, you can use the process template editor to edit the work item definition on the server. Instructions and a walk through here => http://geekswithblogs.net/TarunArora/archive/2011/12/11/customising-tfs-2011-process-template-for-exploratory-testing-tours-using.aspx (instead of opening from the file choose open from server, rest holds good).

Do you want to add a new field in Bug work item, or add a new value of a specify field of Bug work item?

Hi William,

Thank you for your post.

If you want to add a new work item field, you can refer to Windy's post.

If you want to add a new value of a work item field, you can install TFS 2010 Power Tools, then edit work item types through Process Editor.

Thanks Lily! I've used TFS power tool to add new workitem value. It works pretty well.
