SQL AlwaysOn ?

Hi all,
I have to sites (different subnets) and want to have a active/passiv SQL 2012 Setup with a easy way to failover.I could build this with MS/SQL Cluster and shared disk.
But to avoid the SAN to be the single point of failure I'd like to build this with independent disk setup.
Is this possible with alwayson availability group and AG-listener ??
If yes, what are the OS requirements for this (does it still needs to have MS Cluster installed on both nodes ?)
TIA for some light in the dark...
