    Hi,

"Is it applicable in MOSS 2007?"

It is but i can't find the download for Office 2007 html viewer no more..

If you find it and install it then follow this steps:

Insall the viewer > Central Administration > Operations > External Service Connections > Html Viewer and configure MOSS to use the server

Enter the url of the Html Viewer server and check the box "Allow HTML viewing

You could accomplish the same thing with Exchange 2007(SharePoint file access) or by using Citrix for SharePoint.

    Cheers,

    Hi Daniel,

html viewer is not available anymore. I don't get that "You could accomplish the same thing with Exchange 2007(SharePoint file access) or by using Citrix for SharePoint". How can I achieve to view the documents in the browser without having office application? Thanks for your reply.

    Hi,

The “HTML Viewer” feature is not supported with WSS3.0 and MOSS2007.

This feature was discontinued as it would introduce security issues and would be removed in future releases of SharePoint.

The workaround is to convert the documents manually before posting on the website, Here are links to the office converters:

Hope the information can be helpful.

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for your response! If I applied your workaround, user still needs office 2003. Actually, what I want is to enable the user to view the documents written in Word 2003 or Word 2007 without having installed Office application in user machine.

With this workaround, you could convert the word files to web pages, so user do not need to install Word in the machine.

Without converting word to other format, use must have Office installed on their machine to view the document.

Hope the information can be helpful.

Thanks for your reply and attention. I think to convert the word document into web page, we don't need to install these converters. We can save the documents as web pages. These converters just convert from Office 2007 documents to Office 2003 compatible documents. I may misunderstand what you mean. Please could you explain in details? Thanks again.

    Yes, you understand correctly.

I provide these converter pack just for your convenience.

For example, you have Word 2007 documents but have Office 2003 applications only, then you need the converter pack to convert the Word 2007 documents.

Let me know if you need further information.
