Application page vs Site pages

Hi All,
Are below lines correct?
- Page that is coming from site definition is application page.
- Page that has been customized is site page.
- Page that is created directly via SPD or UI is also site page.
One more question. where the pages, that are part of site definition, are stored in file system in web frontend server?
Is there any restriction like only specific type of pages can be referenced in site definition?

Hi Amit,
basically there are two types of pages available in sharepoint i.e, Ghosted & UnGhosted Pages.
So, in your case the above three sentences are correct,
