Hello,
One of my clients has restored sharepoint 2010 db.
After that, the new documents metadata (doc extention) are
not synchronized with SP libraries. The senario:
1. From SP library > add new document
2. MS Word is opened, I fill in text & fill the DIP (Document Information Panel) data.
3. Save & close the document
4. The result: The properties in the SP lib are all empty
5. I reopen the documet & go to: File > Info > Show Document Information Panel and the values are there (as I filled them).
Can anyone tell what should I do to resolve this?

It might also be worthwhile to clean out the document metadata (Word->Inspect Document->Remove metadata) and see if things get better.

Hello Learn.SharePoint,
I am using word doc extention type (not a template). The default doc saves its own data & when I write in for the 1st time
everything within the doc is saved. This problem occurs in all the libraries. the problem is only with the metadata.

Also might be worthwhile to check ULS logs during a save to see if anything is wrong.

I too have faced this problem once but couldnot find any solution.
So lastly what i did was deleted the metadata from word document and placed it back, that worked very fine.
I guess on migration or restoration, the word document properties could not locate the connection with SharePoint Columns.
Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for your reply.
1st, document inspector didn't help. (I reattached "clean" doc to the content type & again after savig all metadata was empty)
2nd. Can u please tell how do check the ULS log during save?

Thanks Suraj but I also tried this & it didn't help.
I understood that the sys admin has recovered the sharepoint db (after it was deleted) using mount.
I guess (as you wrote) that it got to do with connecting or synchronizing sharepoint with office.
(By the way InfoPath forms works correctly. I guess that "publish" makes the difference)
