I'm able to connect to Azure using the Query tool in SQL Management Studio 2008 but I can't browse the database structure or use any of the other graphical tools in SSMS. Each time I try to connect I get an Invalid object name 'sys.configurations' error.

Unfortunately, that is the only option within SQL Management Studio currently available in this CTP.

Thanks for the answer - any chance that might change in the near future?

Yes, we are very focused on improving the tools for SQL Azure.  Some of the tools require changes in SQL Azure and some require changes in the tools.

We have several improvements planned over the next couple of months.

I thought MS was done with, Put the $hit out there and let ppl figure it out, mode. I know this is a CTP, but if basic things are not going to be working, how do you expect ppl to review and provide feedback.

Where is the Product Manager on this? You are supposed to remove the hurdles in adoption. With such an approach, other Cloud DB will have an advantage over MS, right out the door.

    Hey Ramesh,
As you know this is a CTP, you may realize that this is fare more new product than SSMS 2008 is?
And if you do not know let me tell you - there is a CTP of SQL Server 2008 R2 also. And updates are coming.
And if you follow the threads here, you will see that MSFT is promising better support for SQL Azure in SSMS 2008 R2 !
So I do believe that PMs are doing great job, and I do believe that SSMS 2008 R2 RTM will have more robust support over SQL Azure RTW. Let's just wait up to the release dates and see what will happen then ;)
