Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 Failover Clustering (KB970894)
-
Tuesday, March 16, 2010 9:33 AMHello all,
Windows updates is showing this entry on my sql server cluster.
Do I have to install this update simultaneously on both servers of my cluster or can I wait for a few days before patching the other node?
(one node is set to install windows updates on wednesdays and the other on sundays).
Thanks,
Sam

Hi,
To apply the upgrade to all nodes in the failover cluster, you only need to install the Service Pack on the active node that owns the group containing the virtual server. In the Feature Selection page, select the virtual server that you plan to upgrade and keep all nodes of the cluster online during setup.
If there are any more questions, please let me know.
Thanks.
