Saturday, June 13, 2009 7:37 AMI tried to look for some cues to see how to do this, but didn't find anything.
Can this be done?
If yes, please point me to some resources to get started.
Thanks,
MG

Sorry for the late response.
I am not aware of any specific GP web parts for SharePoint but I would do a search along the lines of this: http://www.bing.com/search?q=sharepoint+web+parts+for+great+plains&FORM=DLSDF7&pc=MDDS&src=IE-SearchBox
Sadly, the first link is for some press release from 2001 ...
But, search around. I'm sure you'll find something.
Be careful re: BDC - it's an enterprise feature. I should have mentioned that at the beginning.
There's a very well regarded tool from Lightening tools that should evaluate: http://www.lightningtools.com/bdc-meta-man/moss-business-data-catalog-getting-started.aspx
Good luck!

It really boils down to your requirements. What do you want to surface? What do you want to do with it in SharePont? Is it read only or bi-directional (i.e. change GP data from SharePoint itself).
BDC a good choice for surfacing data from GP in SharePoint.
GP itself may provide some web parts or other nice features to do some integration.
How much research have you done?

Thank you for your reply.
I am just getting started with BDC, so pretty new to it.
I am reading through the MSDN articles for BDC http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms519241.aspx and will try to follow the AdventureWorks sample.
My requirement is to show the purchase orders of specific type on SharePoint to track their delivery. I will be adding few columns to the list(?) once I get that data in SharePoint (I think this can be done from what little knowledge I have)
Can you please tell me where can I get the GP webparts? Do I need to buy them or are they available with GP 10?
It will be great if you can direct me to some practical examples of doing this. Are their any good books?
Your response is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
