Has anyone tried it? I'm trying to use MS Office Live Small Business free site and storage to host my SilverLight 1.0 app. Is .NET framework installed on Office Live Small Business account that we sign up for?

OLP Files

Does anybody know how an .OLP file is structured?

I am wondering if I can create a package solution of my site and then open the .OLP file to extract out the web pages, make modifications to the pages and then install it back. In theory I should be able to do this. However, when I open the .OLP file in Winzip, I see a manifest file but thats it. No pages. And, some of the .OLP files will not open with Winzip.

My reasoning is that I want to create a custom template for the site which is not possible with the Site Designer and is completely standards compliant. I also, do not want to enable Third Party Tools because you lose all of the sites nice built in functionality.

Office Live is so close to being a killer solution and I am starting to get frustrated with it.

I'm uploading my site via Sharepoint designer 2007, when I test the site in my computer it works perfectly, but when I use <asp:....> for navigation and configure it through web.sitemap and upload it to the server, in my pages instead of the navigation it show "Small Business Web Site" (Link to my home page), does not officelive allow me to use web.sitemap as my site map navigation? or should I change something? because I believe there are nothing with the site, it works perfectly in my local server and it does not work in officelive server.

Has anyone had trouble using additional OLSB applications?

I just got 15 letters from MS promoting the additional features available in OLSB, but I find them completely unstable and unuseable. The website features work fine most of the time, but as soon as I click workspace live or business applications, my browser freezes and I have to close it. This is using XP and IE6. Is it me or is this "normal"?

the contact web part has some flaws.

1. Name and Phone number are not carried into the message sent to the administrator
2. Administrator can't see email address of sender unless he clicks 'reply'
3. No 'captcha' screen

My website was created via the Microsoft Office Live Basic tools. For the most part, it has worked fine over this past year. Two weeks ago, a rather strange issue surface. I was unable to view my page in Internet Explorer but had no issues loading it in Firefox. When I try logging on to my website via Internet Explorer, the browser freezes, and I have to shut it down.

I have contacted Microsoft Office Live support. Their first response was that Google Adsense was the reason for this happening and that I should remove it. I responded by saying that I've had Google Adsense for almost a year and this issue only began two weeks ago. They responded by saying that I needed to activate the third party design tool feature to use google Adsense and then will require a professional web developer to create the pages for me. Am I wrong to think this reply is quite absurd and the problem stems from elsewhere? The reason I availed of Microsoft Office Live's services is because I could not afford a professional web developer.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so ,how did you circumvent this problem? I would appreciate it if you could respond to my post with any input. Thank you in advance.

need help with custom navigation

I want to customize navigation on my OL website. In the tutorial, it says to
-select module
-select custom navigation, click ok
-click select file
-select the file TopNavFirstLevelElementsOnly.xslt and click ok

I never get a list of .xslt documents, so I can't select that file

I want my custom navigation to be horizontal, not vertical

How do I do this?

How do I create a second Office Live Small Business account?

I have created a website! So far so good.

Now I wish to create an additional site, designed for a different purpose. So using my existing Office Live account I purchased the domain name for the second site.

Again, so far so good. The new domain name is listed as secondary. That's fine--all I have is the domain name at this point.

So now I want to get to work designing the second site. I see a link in the Page Manager to Create a Website, but when I click it, it opens the website I have already created. That's not what I want to do. Instead, I want to create a whole new site under the second domain name that I just purchased (and which is now activated, btw).

Now, when I open my Domain Manager I do see the following instruction:

"Create another site

If your business needs are expanding and your current Web site isn't set up to meet those emerging needs, you must create a new Office Live Small Business account to manage a new site."

Okay, fair enough. But I'm not seeing an obvious way to create a new account in order to create a brand new, separate site. It should be simple, I would think. I'm just not seeing how to do it.

I will add that it isn't so much that I don't want to create the new site within the existing one, per se. But I do want for the new site to have its own separate web address. When I'm asked to create a new webpage within my existing site it has me add a URL tag to the main address of the first site I created--again, not what I wish to do!

Instructions as to how to proceed will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

This is the closest forum I can find to Office Automation. I apologise if it is the wrong place for this.

If I use Word 2007 to open the document on the web server in my office via the network it opens as editable. If I open the same document from IE 8 using

I had created a Word Add-In which runs fine on the Development machine (XP ,with Office 2003 SP2) , but when I deploy the installer onto a different PC it throws up an error while opening a file , which is says

I have followed a good tutorial on adding a custom task pane to outlook e-mails (shows and allows the task pane to be toggled), now I want to populate dropdown boxes when a new e-mail is opened. The dropdown information comes from a database, so I am using a data adapter to pull that information. So in short I would like to open a new e-mail and then populate the task pane custom controls with information to allow the user to interact with them and then press a button to add data to the database (all with-int he custom task pane).

Hi,

I am just getting started with Office Live. I have figured out lists and creating input forms. What I need to do is to create two fields one for phone numbers and the other for valid text entry.

What i want to do is to accept phone numbers in the format xxx xxx-xxxx. I also want to validate that that the entries are numeric. In the other field I want to check (for simplicity of example) that the input string matches "hello".

Can someone please provide a brief example or point me to a good reference for how to accomplish this. I am assuming that I need to change the XSLT and to include some sort of scripting to perform the desired checks but I am so far clueless as to how this looks.

i am using xml & xslt for generate MS word doc.

simple steps for generating ms doc file are-

1) creating xml file

2)creating xslt file

use both files as embeed resourses

3)transfom xslt and generate MS doc file

when i use simple xml ,it works fine and i got ms doc file

but when i used rich text functionality in xml like

<I1>

<i>is itellic</i>I1>

code works fine and output as msdoc file but with out formatting.

output comes "this is a text This is itallic" instead "this is a text This is itallic"

I've scrollers displaying flash news using the div element in 50 pages of my site. Its a painful job to manually update all the 50 pages (html). I have created a form for the web site from a list within an Office Live Business Application. However, when the fields are generated on the default form, they are the incorrect width for the user easily enter their information. What is the simpliest way to modify the widths and heights of these entry fields on the generated web form?

P.S. - I looked at the Office Live article "Customize a form on a Web page using advanced design features", however I was not able to determine from this article how to easily modify form field lenghts.

Although I have selected "top and left" for navigation, the left will not list my pages, or any new pages either. I bought a design from some designers and pasted their css. On their web page that shows the navigation, they do have links (unduuplicated) on the left and they have links at top too. This example works correctly on IE6 & IE7, except I receive security warning message about active content. I'm afraid that if I use this code to transform XML from internet by XSLT, it always raise a warning popup.

Server error:the version of windows sharepoint services running on the server is more recent than the version of the sharepoint designer you are using. You need a more recent version of sharepoint designer.

I am having a problem with download when clicking on a URL in an email or word document. If the URL is in a HTML page, the problem does not occur. If I use a browser other than IE, the problem does not occur. Now one of the odd things that happen, when clicking on a URL in a word document, is you get two requests for the document. One on the established connection, with credentials (from explorer) and one on a new connection without credentials (from WinWord). You may get an ‘OPTIONS’ request from WinWord. Problem with the heights

Hello

I got 3 divs – top bottom and middle,

The top have to be always 20px and always on the top

The bottom have to be always 20px and always on the bottom page

The mid will get a scroll if overflow

The page has to kip its 100% not more.

This is my cod – don’t know hot to do it..
