Urgent Problem installing .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 2008 Std 32 bitI have installed the application role, and application server foundation service (which is supposed to up the .NET version from V2.0 to V3.0) however, the component services still show V2.0 and not V3.0. When I try to install V3.5 it fails - I assume because it needs V3.0 as a pre requisite. I have also tried installing V3.0 manually but set-up stops because it says I am supposed to install using role management, which I have already tried to do!

For the V3.5 install I don't get a specific error, simple "Setup failed".

I have found the following errors in the event viewer, could they be related:?

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: System.WorkflowServices, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35 .
