I have an RF USB keyboard with an embedded track ball installed on my windows xp PC. The USB keyboard has no driver of its own and works with Windows's standard HID driver. Is there a way to define a specific key on the keyboard as wake up key for the pc from the stand by mode? What I am experiencing now is that the PC wakes up from the stand by mode with any activity on the USB device regardless of whether it is originated from the keyboard keys or the keyboard trackball.

    Thank you

    Sofia

Now I am using Windows 7. And in Windows 7 you can set this by clicking "Control Panel-Power Options-Advanced settings". I remember that it seems it is the same in Windows XP. You can check that. And there are settings about standby in some computers which is depends on the brand of your computer. You can check is there are these settings in your computer.
