I am new to the tasks associated with building a data warehouse or data mart.  There are many references to best practice administrative and technical tasks, but I find it helpful to have a simple, well documented walk-through.  I have installed the AdventureWorks and AdventureWorksDW databases on SQL Server 2005 and would like some documentation on the process behind the development of the fact and dimension tables in the OLAP version.  After the analyst at Adventure Works conducted interviews and identified KPIs, what was the process for determining the specific dimension and fact tables that needed to be created.  Are there any white papers or books which provide details on the thought process behind creating the AdventureWorksDW database?
