Access to Word format

Question

Just wondering, I believe I heard not long ago Little Billy "The Man" Gates say something in the vain of providing .NET developers access to libraries in order to provide the ability, at the very least, to save documents in Word (.doc) format.  Was I dreaming?  Is this the "Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the MS Office System?"

Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System allows developers to create document-centric managed code solutions in Word, Excel and InfoPath.

lots of thanks for the reply.  To clear up things, my question was with regards to how I could output text in Word (.doc) format, and what libraries (unmanaged) are there now to simplify this task, if any.  Thanks again, I'll go and check the links you have provided me with.
