Is compression enabled at service level
- Hi All
I was wondering if wwsapi, at the service level, supports out-of-the-box standard HTTP content compression (http header accept-encoding:gzip,deflate and response body returned compressed) and if not, how it could be done. I've searched the project documentation and cannot find anything related to this. Its important to me cos my SOAP client will be managing 1 MB response messages quite often and at that file size sending compressed content makes a big difference in overall response times.

The current version of the WWSAPI does not support compression out of the box. However, you can use custom channel encoder/decoder callbacks (set through channel properties WS_CHANNEL_PROPERTY_ENCODER, WS_CHANNEL_PROPERTY_DECODER) to implement compression on your own. Here are the samples that show simple implementation of encoded/decoder:
