How do i update windows media center on windows xp?

Question

Hi all i have a gateway system. I restored it to factory settings and updated as much as i could but windows media center is still running on 2002 how can i upgrade to 2005? I do have the restore disc for my system which states on the disc that it runs windows media center 2005 but wont seem to put it on. Thanks.
