getting a error 0*80070490 when trying a windows back up!!!

hi!

When i try a windows backup getting a error which says that 0*80070490 element not found.Can't do a windows backup

Tried chkdsk in safe mode and also loaded windows with the minimal configuration but to no avail.Can anyone tell me as to how to get rid of this problem.

Help would be appreciated.

I had a similar error. The root cause in my case was that I had some malware "installed" which did try to hide from the backup proces. Did you try to run the latest virus/malware scanners?

I tried spybot2 and it showed some files that were infected and i deleted the files.COuld that be a problem?
