Word 2007 templates problem with command buttons

Question

I have a series of templates in word 2007 in which I use "command boxes" with associated macros (like to print etc.).
These command boxes work fine in the original template (xxx.dotm).
However, since Microsoft's last series of updates this week, when I open the template as a new document, the command boxes no longer work. Clicking design mode does nothing.
To get the button to work, I have to click Properties, CommandButton:object, and then Edit. Only then does the button work.
Are you aware of this mail-function and more important, do you have a solution? Hoping very much that you can help me solve this.
