Search for number list and change format using macro

Question

Let's say I have a number list of:

"  01.  Something paragraph......

  02.  Something paragraph......

  03.  Something paragraph......

  04.  Something paragraph......

"

I want to change the tab format and reassign the tab position for each number.  How do I do that using a macro?
