Nothing else causes this issue. Several users are extremely unhappy about it, and quite honestly I think Netgear really should rethink their EOL idealistic approach and do something about it.

We've tried changing the MTU lower, but there is nothing really else we can do.

Problem appeared mid-week, with many users reporting it, and the only two common elements being Messenger and the FVS124G. Obviously something changed in Messenger early this week (around the 21st of July 2009). What I want to know is: Anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? Is there a simple solution I could employ to stop it? Will Microsoft review the issue and see if they can do anything about it (doubtful)? Can they roll back whatever change caused it?

I'm pretty unimpressed - with Netgear mostly, and a little with Microsoft.Sat, 25 Jul 2009 04:30:00 Z2009-11-25T14:16:01Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/33bb5e83-f83d-4a84-b453-45f39813d5dbhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/33bb5e83-f83d-4a84-b453-45f39813d5dbAmericanSpirithttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=AmericanSpiritErrorcode: 80072f7dHi,
i can't login with my windows live id with the new messenger live build 14.0.8050.1202, with the message: Your contactlist is currently not available.

I have try all articles from the FAQ, but nothing have help.

Can help anyone?

Sry my english is very Bad i know, i'm from germany.

Mon, 15 Dec 2008 22:41:55 Z2009-11-25T09:22:21Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/0ec41479-c2ba-4786-8978-cb6c91af0354http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/0ec41479-c2ba-4786-8978-cb6c91af0354sqwirralhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=sqwirralMessenger 9 won't let me send ZIP or RAR filesHad no problem with the old version, but it forced me to update and now I can't send .zip or .rar files - it says they might be dangerous and I have to install the anti-virus thing and scan them every time.

How do I switch that off so I can send files normally again?Sat, 14 Nov 2009 19:39:51 Z2009-11-24T02:45:56Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/9c5721a3-e3c7-4b98-a2d3-3c459ba03e7ahttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/9c5721a3-e3c7-4b98-a2d3-3c459ba03e7aJMemberhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=JMemberShow contacts by e-mail addressI've searched around the internet, without any results.

I would like to know if there is a patch or is there an OPTION for Windows Live Messenger 2009 to show contacts by e-mail address and not display name / name last name.

Like old windows live messenger...

Tue, 24 Nov 2009 01:12:26 Z2009-11-24T01:12:27Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/f5b85392-ff60-481b-8700-207840b91619http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/f5b85392-ff60-481b-8700-207840b91619FirefoxRocks61http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=FirefoxRocks61Windows Live Messenger 2009 BETA and iTunes
You probably have noticed that by using Windows Live Messenger 2009 BETA, the Now Playing song in iTunes does not appear in your personal message even after you have checked the Show what I'm listening to option and enabled the Windows Live Messenger Music Plugin via Windows Media Player.
The music plugin works fine in WMP, but it breaks compatibility with iTunes after upgrading to the BETA Messenger.

The only workaround that I have found to this issue is to use a 3rd party software to send the song information to messenger. I'm not sure why they never did. But now they I'm forced to update, it's not working again. I'm getting no errors, other than an occasional "Windows Live Communications Platform has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." type popup. I try to connect and it does nothing, it just goes right back to the sign in screen. I'm not getting any error messages unless I get the pop up that I listed above. I've never had any problem connecting to Windows Live before with 8.5 or any version lower, but since version 9 came out I've never been able to run it. I'm running build 14.8089.726. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, removing all MSN/Live files/folders from my computer and registery. Nothing has worked. I'm not sure what else to do. When I go to the Connection Troubleshooter in the options it says everything is fine, I try to run the repair and I still get kicked back to the login screen, if I try the tests in the connection settings it says I'm able to connect. I'm using Windows XP pro, service pack 3.

I have a log of me trying to connect but it is too long to post on here.
Wed, 16 Sep 2009 19:46:05 Z2009-11-11T04:34:00Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/75b63891-b7ea-4071-a0c3-4dcb3fd1d403http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wlmessengerdev/thread/75b63891-b7ea-4071-a0c3-4dcb3fd1d403Niceguybottomhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=NiceguybottomWindows live version 8Why are we being forced to use Version 9 of Windows Live Messenger?
