Required upgrade messed up my contacts, now I can't even sign in.

Question

Over the past year, I've had to dongrade several times, because each subsequent upgrade would not allow me to sign in. This is happening all over again, either a message that firewall is blocking the messenger, which I've checked multiple times to no avail, or that my contact list could not be found at this time. It is very troublesome, that this non needed upgrade had to be mandatory, as my retro version was working fine, what do I have to do to sign in?
