MSN Live Messenger webcam problems
- Hello.I have problem in viewing others people webcams.I shows that connection is established but still i can see it loading it on the screen.and This loading doesn't stop.What is the problem?

- Hi, I have the same problem here. When I start Video Call it hangs in loading...
Also if I click on Show my webcam I can only see my self but my contact is unable to see me.
Strengur Hello, I'm residing in Taiwan and I have that problem once in awhile, too. It occurs more often lately. Even more so, starting two days ago, my webcam on msn live msger keeps freezing at some point and shuts off by itself, while the other party's webcam is still functioning. At first I thought it was my built-in webcam's problem (on my laptop), but when I was chatting with my webcam on my desktop at my office, the same thing keeps happening. I also used ccleaner to clean/fix my laptop and desktop, but it is still happening. I don't know why my webcam keeps shutting off by itself. I am beginning to wonder if the problem lies in the Internet connection or msn live msger itself. Anybody got an idea? I am desperate for a solution... sigh.

- Same problem here... started happening some weeks ago.
My contacts see my cam fine, but I cannot see theirs. Their cam just keeps on loading without it ever completing.
I have problem to on 17 cpu's... but when I change my location on my mail acc I can see it with out problems... but did my gests must change location 4 everyone?does anyoneknow the solution to this problem?? Help needed.

- Nothing yet, but I still have the same problem. Totally reproducable. Tried on several computers at home and the same.
I am thinking it might be my router with inbuilt firewall, but it has all the firewall options turned off and it has worked before (and there have been no configuration changes since).
I sayed: TRY TO CHANGE COUNTRY ON UR MAIL ACC IN UR MAIL OPTIONS
What do countries and mail options have anything to do with a webcam? Why would that even begin to work?
couse I have problem 2 but m slave problem with that... but I have problem with cam's in Internet Club not @ home... so my client's can't change hem's location know? m slaved problem 4 me but claent have problem still n m reinstall MSN m find compactibile version for my country n now working so good...- I had the same problem, but i resolve doing this:
Unistall Windows Live Messenger
Erase the installation folder and this (XP): .\Documents and Settings\All Users\WLinstaller (or something that begins with WL and sound like that)
in Vista is in .\ProgramData\
REBOOT: REALLY IMPORTANT, I DID IT WITHOUT REBOOT AND DIDN'T WORK
After reboot, reinstall.
And everything's done.

I had same problem on my Xp sp1 when had msn 7.5 and when wanted sign up told me need to upgrade. unfortunately sent me to www.get/live.com/messenger setup file is 18 Mbs and same problem as you people, i could be seen and heard but i couldnt see other.

- well i tried doing wat u said.. but there aint any WLinstaller kinda file in my folder.. its really annoying that cant se the other person's webcam even after reinstalling the whole thing.. please help anyone got ideas??

- Good information. I need an answer on why I can't get the voice from the program. I set everything up and the mic and playback are fine but neither of the contacts can hear. The video is great. Just no voice from either computer?? Help please??

- um, if ur like me, make sure peer guradian or any other kind of ip blocker is turned off. if ur having any more problems, plz pdate and rebbot. it should be fixed.

Its not driver related it MSN itself. Switched to yahoo Messenger (Both the stable version and the new Vista beta and now all my problems have gone.Hello !
After two minutes my webcam image freezes and the other side sees this freezed image as well. So i have the same problem. Even on time Live messenger crashed and i did send an error report to Microsoft hoping they can solve it.

Seemed to have had the same problem. My internal computer webcam was not working. I could see her but she could not see me. So I decided to try your solution and it was scary cause I am very new at all this!!
Thank you so much ended up uninstalling windows live messenger and at least getting the internal web cam being recognised by msn and now can see my lovely daughter. I am in Beijing and she is in Australia. Still having a lot of problems with the delay in the audio but as very happy to be able to see her

Can u help, how did u get your webcam working both ways???? My son in Oman im in UK but only get intermitent one way video or continual loading and then shuts down. Please please tell me how u did it. Thanks Tina.

Im in Oman I suspect one or 2 things causing problems at this end .First lack of bandwidth causing problems with loading .Also a possibilty than Omantel is hacking into account this end .Running Zonealarm here shows constant probes against my computer from ISP Omantel .My Messenger has got progressively worse over the last six months .Web cam 2 way traffic only works once in a blue moon .Sorry Ive not got any help to fix it , just a couple of suggestions . - Well I have the same problem. Any solutions ?
- My problem was simple. I too could not see or be seen. Then I realived I was on my companies VPN. Once I disconnected BINGO! We could see each other. So im not sure what the issue is but there could be port or tunneling setting on your router. Good Luck!

- for all those who can't see their contacts webcams here is the masimple and magic remedycreate a new account or log on with someone's else account and you will see that you can see your contacts web cam then .this is tested and it works 10000000000000000000000000000000 percent

- Hello, I'm new here, so i'ill do my best. I have the same probleme that every one here metionend. You start a video conference and somewhen, the image freeze. Or you start a video and whe it's time to load the images... the video interface shuts down. I have 2 pc's at home... so i tried to initiate à video conference from one pc to the other... and there where no problem at all. I think then that the problem is some kinf of configuration. Otherwise, if it where the driver, the cam wouldn,T just work. So i guess the question is now why would it work from pc's from local server ans not when you contant someone external. I dont have anough knowledge tonight to anser the question... but maybe someone can ;) Hope it helps :)
