Hi,

i can't login with my windows live id with the new messenger live build 14.0.8050.1202, with the message: Your contactlist is currently not available.

I have try all articles from the FAQ, but nothing have help.

Can help anyone?

reinstall  Contacts.msi if you can find it in this path:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live\.cache\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

sry but the folder dosn't exist, but i have find the file with the search.

When i try to install the Contacs.msi comes an error with the message a newer version is installed.

I have just had this problem - It seems that the new version is also using the same contacts.msi file (or associated) as other versions.

Simply Exit out of the old messenger program (not just logout) and you should now be able to sign in...

Hey!

I have the excact same problem and nothing seems to work.

It all started after i updated messenger.

I have even formatted and reinstalled my hole PC but still not able to logon til live messenger.

Man i am realy in trouble because i i use live msn alot and are realy dependent om it for work ect.

Realy hope someone knows what to do.

Well i had the same problem, it is really fuckin irritating but i fixed it by removing the nVidia (Forceware) Network Acces Manager, ( control panel, add or remove programs, and then look 4 it, and then remove, reboot comp ) mayyybe it helps, :p

I've found an even simpler solution...

1. Close the troublesome Windows Live Messenger (not just sign out)

2. Open the old version of Messenger and log in.

3. Close old version (not just log out)

4. Open the troublesome Windows Live Messenger and try to log in again.

It worked for me, but it might be because I previously had a really old version of messenger on my computer (Version 4.7 (4.7.3000)).

Sorry over clicked there!!!

Simple answer.... CLOSE MSN FIRST, and then try signing in.... 2 days now, I had the same error, did everything, even rebooted.... but both times, I opened taskman and kill messenger, (msnmsgr.exe) and opened it from the start menu and it signed right in! I have two accounts, and both account worked again, both would not log in!

I had much of the same issue, a very old version of MSN messenger.
But instead of exiting out of the old one, I thought to delete the program files and reinstall the new version.
Only now I'm getting a new error code. D:

Look im sure u have added a patch to it and u created a new Email , u just need close all WLM(windowsLIVEmessenger) not just SIGN OUT , then open again and use ur email , im pretty sure it will work

I'm in yr 9 and we just got the laptops.  Every time I try to log on to windows live messenger it comes up with the "80072f7d" error code.  I have found the program that blocks some internet sites, and it is called "Blue Coat ProxyClient".  I am wondering if I delete this program (if it will even let me delete it), would it fix this messenger problem and also, would it mean the internet is unblocked.  I am also hesitant because I do not know if deleting this program will stuff up my laptop, and if it doesn't, will DETNSW be able to detect the change.

If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.

Really, you actually deleted it?  Hmm...  I'm from Turramurra high in NSW, Aus.  How about you?  I don't want to delete it yet because I don't know if they can detect the change...  Can they cancel our DET acoount thingy?

As soon as you go into school the laptop will sinc itself with the main school system and send all the data over, and I'm pretty sure that means it will send over te fact that you've made a change to the software on you're laptop...  I wonder if we can "detach" the laptops from the DET system?

GRR.....  I tried uninstalling the Blue Coat ProxyClient program but all it says is "Preparing to remove..." then it says "Please wait while Windows configures Blue Coatn ProxyClient", then it just closes and Blue Coat ProxyClient is still there.
Does anyone know what is wrong or have any suggestions?

Apparently we were going to have all this stuff like youtube and facebook etc unblocked, but the Chatswood kids wasted all their school's downloads so they blocked everything.  Are you Jett from Turramurra?

  I had deleted all the program files from the old version that was installed on my computer, and installed a new version and it worked fine. So maybe anyone with any further issues could try that? Because with the old versions, they don't give you an easy uninstall.exe program, which is quite aggravating. I guess people that used MSN 7 years ago were a lot more intelligent. Or less lazy. :P

I would try that, but we can't install or uninstall anything on these laptops because NSWDET didn't want us to screw around with them.  I've tried looking for that file, but there isn't one anyway.

nah. im from chatswood high and we only received them this wednesday. i dont think our year spammed fb and msn but i heard someone could log on to FB during a history lesson. i also have a way of getting onto the internet without DET portal blocking all the sites. its just a proxy except u can make your own one on a free web hosting site like ueuo.com    you gotta dl all the filess off an annonymous proxy and then put it onto ur website. you can acess everything with it after that. msn still doesnt work but u can go ebuddy.com to use it. one of the teachers who came to chatswood told us that .exe files dont work on the laptops. i tried opening games like dota and cs on them but it dont work. a friend told me that if you need to open .exe files you have to right click it and run as administrator. i havnt confirmed this yet though.

omfg !! this is so retarted. i got my lappy like 2 weeks ago and my msn is fucked up.
i tried to get into firewall and delete shttt, and allow some programs, but its still being shtt.

yeah they play mp4 vids lol, btw its not msn but if u have  a SATA connector you can hook up the lappys drive to comp go program files/bluecoat/blah blah blah there should be a config file there, edit it so the things that say "block" say "allow" where theres a list of things "hacking, instant messaging, blogs ect." then save changes put back in lappy, you can use web messengers and other sites that wher blocked -the school servers reset bluecoat so when you go home and use at school you will have blockers again-

Yea, there's an internet user password and credentials that lets you get onto stuff like youtube, but not facebook or myspace or twitter.  I'm not gonna put it up here but if you give me your email I'll send it to you.  Also, if you know anyone with a tafe account(but one of the more priveliged ones), then you can use that too.  This stuff only works at school though(which is kinda the opposite of what they wanted lol).

Yea, s'all good.  Hey, did you guys hear about this program or exe. file or whatever it is?  Apparently, you put it on your lappy and it paralyses the Blue Coat ProxyClient program (that is the thing that paralyses the internet and other things) and then you can do everything at home and school...  If you know what it is could you tell me?  Also, as mudzz said before, you just take the HDD (hard disk drive) out of the laptop and connect it to your home computer or whatever and just delete it from there, but it sincs with the school system when you take it to school and re-installs te program so you would have to do it constantly...  We need to figure out how to detatch the laptops from the NSWDET system.  Also is anyone elses keyboard starting to not work properly?  It's really ____ me off.

Actually, you can open exe. files, you just have to right click and click run as administrator, and if that doesn't work you can try restarting your lappy or press start, search cmd in the search bar and when you're in there you have to type gpupdate/force exacty like that.  I have no idea if it works but it's worth a shot...  Flash games also work on the laptops.

Oops... Forgot to mention...  You can get onto messenger at school, but it's not the normal one.  Type iloveim.com into the adress bar (not the searh bar) and just use that to sign in to hotmail or whatever you're on.

Ummm.....
iloveim.com doesn't work at home on the laptops...  Neither does Grooveshark or YouTube.  That stuff only works at school (lol).  You could try it on the home computer but thats kinda pointless.
Just type iloveim.com in the address bar and when you're on the site click on hotmail (or whichever server you use) and sign in.  It's knid of weird though and it's not the same as normal hotmail.  You can still do everything though.
Do you know why iTunes won't open???  It's really annoying and has been happening lately...  Meh...
Oh yeah, right-click run as admin only works at school when you're connected to nswdet (oops =s).

Yeah, hi,
It's called BlueCoat Proxy Client.  It lets whoever is in control tell the computers (or laptops) running off the main server what internet sites they can and can't access.  If you can figure out how to uninstall and delete this program let us know.  But, my theory is that if we can get rid of it then when we take our lappys to school then they will sinc with the main computer and either reinstall the program or tell NSWDET that it has been deleted and then cancel our account or something.  It's just a theory, though...
