fail to login on Live Sync

whats wrong with my login into Live Sync?

i have had erfajo at gmail before, as i liveID, but I closed it... and now I want to return using it by creating that account again. it worked with messenger in generel, but not with Live Sync.

could the problem be, that Live Sync used to be Foldershare (when i used erfajo at gmail)

could someone at Microsoft please solve this problem, so i can start using "erfajo at gmail dot com" in Live Sync

Can't Hide Search Box in Windows Live Toolbar

Is there any way to hide/remove the SearchBox in Windows Live Toolbar?

I have been trying with Registry tweaks and Group Policy settings but I can't find how to remove the Search Box.

According to this site:
"After a bit of poking around the registry comparing and testing different keys I found that the following removes the search box entirely (as there is no UI method to do so)
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MSN Apps\SearchBox then add/set Enabled to 0."

But it doesn't work.

Hotmail Sign Out Problem

When I upgraded from IE7 to IE8, I started getting "Sign Out Failed" messages. According to the error page, I cannot log out because my browser does not allow third party cookies. I've set my PC up to prompt me for third party cookies and I have not received any prompt. My only options are to change my browser to allow third party cookies or click on done. I've read another posting where the person was having the same problem and noticed misspellings on the error page, something I really don't think Windows Live would do, but I can't find that question again.  Even when I sent Microsoft Customer Support a note about my problem, they also told me to allow third party cookies.
Why should IE8 require third party cookies when IE7 didn't require them?  Maybe there is something else I am missing? I have a screen snapshot of the error notice page, but I don't see a way to attach it.
   I am running Windows MCE, SP3, IE8.

Windows Live Photo Gallery uninstall failed

I am using XP SP2

I use Windows Live Photo Gallery and the latest version through Windows update

I click uninstall through add/Remove, when it finish , i restart the computer.

Because i want to reinstall it, so i click through the live.com to get it, but it just told me i have installed.

So i look for the program, it partly uninstalled, but still located in add/Remove

i click it again, it told me for the .MSI

How to i completely uninstall it, in order to reinstall it?

Windows Live Mail Password Problems

I use Windows Live Mail Version 2008. When I click the quick launch icon I am prompted for my email address and password. I do not have the "Remember My Password" box checked. If I click cancel without entering my password it will still launch the program. Furthermore, if I click the send/receive button my email account will update. I am concerned because anyone can access my accounting without knowing my password.

Now if I attempt the wrong password it will not launch the program. But if I click cancel, again the program launches.

Is this a known security issue or do I has my program become corrupt?

Windows Live Communications Platform issues

Yesterday, I was using Windows Live Messenger and it was working just fine. I updated it and it suddenly stopped working. it logged me out and closed the client. When I reopened the client and attempted to sign back in, it opened a Windows error dialog box that said "Windows Live Communications Platform has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I sent the error report, and the same message appeared. When it finally stopped, Windows Live Messenger gave me an error message of it's own saying, "We can't sign you in to Windows Live Messenger. Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailible. Error Code: 800706be" When I tried logging in to Windows Live Mail, I got the same Communications Platform error twice and a similar one that said Windows Live Mail itself was encountering a problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Live Essentials, but am still receiving the exact same problems. I spoke to my friend on Skype, and he says his is working perfectly fine. What is the problem I am having?

There is a problem with the Windows Live One Care Safety Center.

There is a loop consisting in :

1. http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm
2. Click 'Full Service Scan' button
3. Click 'Install Now' button (modem lights flash)
4. Elevation Prompt
5. Click 'Launch Scanner' button
6. Back again to 'Install Now' button.

A lot of people can't get the scanner run.

How to fix that?

Are you aware of that?

The problem has been reported since 2 weeks.

Favorites not being Sync'ed anymore!! - MAJOR headache

I've been using the Live Messager Favorites Sync feature for a while and love how I can keep all my faovrites up to day across different computers.

This all changed less than 2 weeks ago when all my favorites dissappeared from ALL my machines. I was able to restore from my Spaces drive but this feature is completely broken now. When I do syncronize, I get multiple links and favorite folders for the same bookmark.

Live mail won't send jpeg attachments

Recently my Live mail messages fail to send and this seems to happen if a photo .jpeg is attached. I get an error message but no description of the error in the associated box. I have tried forwarding messages that have come in to me with such attachments and they fail to forward in the same way as when I have created an e-mail of this type and sent it. The computer seems to be working on sending for while and then the error message comes up (yellow triangle) and the e-mail message is gone from my screen and lost. If I want to try again I have to retype the whole message. This problem developed in the last two days, I have been using live male for months without having this problem. Any ideas what has gone wrong?
I'm on Winxp and use Firefox5.5.5 Browser.

Is their any API's avaibale in WindowMessenger Toolkit or Windows Live using which we can update users contact details and Personal information? please not that we do not want to go with "Delegather Authentication" as the API is still in its Beta Version.And as per MSN team they have not receive any Sign-off on this API so its not preferable to use it

We are also looking for an API using which we can Add/Update informaion in WL Feeds/Eco System

I found that a few contact on my friend list who are showing not using Mobile Device(I guess it has to be using computer), not showing their MSN profile photo in both the chatting window and the main panel.

I am wondering if it is related to some setting if the person is using different computer? It's all the default setting.

When rying to instal Windows 7 Ultimate over Vista I get a compatablitity error:

When I check this driver it says its up to date.

upgraded to windows 7 and imported from Vista Window mail all mail and folders to win 7 live mail. The import looked fine as I watched as all my mail and folders were transfered. After completion I was unable to find the mail and folders in live mail. I rebooted .. no luck!! Anybody out there with an answer???

Msn Live Not Working

My msn live is not working. I turn on my computer log on and msn live does not open at the start like it normally does. I then click to open it and nothing. But when i press Ctrl Alt Delete i click the processes tab and msnmsgr.exe is their twice since i've opened it twice end one process and still it does not work. When it decides to work i sign in but it crashes when i click on it.....

Please help... I know others have had the same problem....

Password not retained in "properties" for Windows Live Mail

All of a sudden, my gmail imap server is not allowing access. Each time I check the properties for the account in Windows Live Mail, the password section is blank. I put the password in, check the 'remember password' box, click apply and close the properties. I check the mail and get the imap error again. Password is blank again.

I have a requirement in which I would like to call a webservice in Excel 2007. I have to get this task done using excel 2007' macro/VBA. I am not supposed to use Ms Sharepoint Server or MS Visual Studio of any version to accomplish this task.

I currently administer a Windows Live Group as a volunteer for a walking based charity in the UK and am successfully parsing RSS from a Windows Live ID based Calendar.

I need to find out if its possible to either:

Get information out of a Windows Live Groups Calendar programatically.
Get information into a Windows Live Groups Calendar programatically.

If someone could provide me with a frame-of-reference as a starting point I'd be ever so thankful.

today, when I wanted to start up windows live messenger I was baffled when it gave me a message telling me to upgrade
a couple of months ago I was forced to upgrade, very much against my will, but i did it anyway. nearly 200 mb was way to much for my liking. seeing as i only use the messenger function and i really don't care for any of the other stuff. but i made the jump anyway, and i quite liked the new look. I never used to upgrade before because i didn't HAVE to. a couple of months ago i did and now I HAVE to, AGAIN.. 200 mb AGAIN. which to me sounds like 5 mb for the messenger and 195 mb for ads.

it was working fine and now you have me upgrade again..
but i won't download your new ad feeds this time, and i chucked the old ones of..
i hope you realise you lose a lot of clients this way.

so my advise is, make a lite program with the important futures; messenger, cam, mic, fileshare, link to hotmail/gmail. etc.
and make the upgrades optional

Photos Live - Don't require sign-in to view this album feature missing

Alot of my friends or famlily members don't know how to use Windows live (old person and don't know much about computer), they don't have any Windows Live acc but still want to see our pics, directly without signing in from your Photo service.

I want to share them my public photos but also don't want they can see my another public photos with different groups. So it had been done when you guy have an option "Don't require sign-in to view this album" with Individuals in "Edit permision" tab. But now my recent upload albums don't have this great option anymore.

So it's been very unconvenient for me and for my firends too. Can you roll that permission option back? Thank you very much!

People will use your service if they feel very comfortable with it. Don't push them to use yours. Your serivce is almost perfect for us.

Cannot send all html stationery

I find it impossible to send html stationery like we could with Window Mail or Outlook Express. It doesnt seem to want to accept positioning in VBS. Tables or extremely simple stats are fine, but most html stationery is not that basic anymore. . Is there a way that can make WLM send all html stationery. This feature in WLM is spoiling hundreds of stationery makers hobby.

Window Live Movie Maker

I have a TV show recording that I edited out commercials with Windows Movie Maker and saved as a wmv file.
I edited this video later with Windows Live Movie Maker and split the video in half and saved it as two separate parts.
I have also edited other videos with Windows Live Movie Maker. Everything works great, except one! All the saved videos are now croped with large black borders. I have compared the video from the original edit with Movie Maker and the edit with Live Movie Maker and have confirmed that Live Movie Maker crops all the final output video files croped with a large black border around the entire video.

Question? When will you be fixing this problem. Note: not asking if it is a problem. all ready know it is.

Windows Live Mail does not work for me in Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Why I don't know.

I have used Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Messenger when I had Windows Vista Home Basic 64 bit.

I now have Windows 7 {clean installation} Home Premium 64 bit and everything I own works EXCEPT
Windows Live Essentials. The Windows Live Mail will only open and allow me to use it if I boot my computer
into safe mode. I cannot understand that Microsoft would not know this or mention it to people or is perhaps
keeping a special 64 bit version of the Windows Live Installer away from users.

I do not beleive that I am the only person to experience this issue. My sister also still has Windows Vista
Home Basic x64 on her laptop and her Windows Live Essentials works fine as did mine when I had Windows
Vista.

I have had to install my Office 2007 Outlook as my E-Mail program instead but the Office Outlook does not allow
any subscriptions to Newsgroups. This is a lousy deal and I just feel like I can't be bothered reporting it Microsoft
because of the buggy nature of the problem. Any other information anyone else would care to contribute?

When I click on Windows Live Mail it starts to open and then closes and never launches. Every time. Every time.

All my drivers are verified as digitally signed by the File Signature Verification utility and there is no outstanding
message in the Management Console event viewers.

wlm9 error message 80072ef3

The latest Window Live Messenger is showing error code 80072ef3. My OS is Window XP SP3. The internet connection is through a proxy server (Linux clarkconnect). Unable to sign in. All proxy settings in advanced option of Messenger is set and tested all connectivity ok. All other messengers such as Yahoo and older versions of MSN messengers are working fine. Please help me to solve this problem

Not sure if this this is the correct place, but it's the best I could find.

I have a signature which is in the forma of an HTML file which was created using Visual Web Developer. When I attach the signature the image is not shown, when the email is sent the the web page displays the following message res://ieframe.dll/syntax.htm#. I can open up the html file and everything displays fine.

Where does the problem lie, Windows 7, IE8 or windows live mail.

any help would be appreciated.

Windows live fails to work with my roadrunner pop3 account. I spent over an hour with the techs at roadrunner last night. I then downloaded Thunderird by Mozilla and it works fine. I would prefer to use Windows live mail.

Looking to write an app that uses soap interfaces to the Live@edu service. We found the admin center sdk which will provision and de-provision users but the sdk does not appear to have anything that would allow us to manage group membership (aka distribution lists). Is there a particular sdk that would need to be used to manage groups (add group, delete group, add/delete member?)

how to link PDF document with SQL database?

Hello. I'm researching for the new VB project and hoping to get some answers. We have a lot of PDF documents and would like to save information filled in by the user in SQL database and then pre-populate the answers in multiple PDFs for printing. We'd also want user to digitally sign the pdf and store the signature in database. Ideally I'd like to create VB project with form that users would fill in and then information should "flow" into existing PDF. Then later I'd setup some reports based on user-filled information. We probably will purchase Adobe LifeCycle software to use with PDF. Please advise! If it's a wrong place for such posting - please let me know.

FrontPage 2003 Out of Memory when publishing and multiple folder selections

I've used FrontPage 2003 for several years without publishing problems. I recently switched from XP to Vista and FP worked just fine. In the past week, I haven't been able to select several files from the "folder list" on the left by using the Ctrl + left click as I have for many years. I can select 2 files this way, but when I select a third, the first file selected is deselected. So the most I can select using Ctrl+left click is 2 files.

The bigger problem is one I discovered last night. As of a week ago, I could publish my entire site to my remote site (host). Now, when I try to publish just one folder, I get a FrontPage Out of Memory notice and FP shuts down.

Could this be from Vista updates? Help!
