Does anyone have idea on how to do this? Vista uses imageres.dll to load background images for the login screen, but looks like in server 2008 this feature is completely disabled..
The background color for the login screen in server 2008 is "29 95 122" (rgb)

    Hi Sawo,

Sorry, but that isn’t possible in Server 2008. A Design Change Request (DCR) was filed for the next version of Windows that will allow this.

    Thanks,

    Leena

Does that mean it is not possible via the server configuration, or it is not possible at all?
In vista that cant be changed too, but the background can be changed by editing imageres.dll

    Hi Sawo,

No it isn’t possible in Windows Server 2008 by any supported means. However, If you chose to, you may use Stardock’s logon studio, but it is totally 100% unsupported.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,

Logon Studio does not work, because it patches imageres.dll, but server 2008 does not use the background from there, so i guess you are right.

This should work for Server 2008 also.
