When is General Public Submission likely to open + Point me in right direction please

Question

I understand that store is currently closed for general submission however can you point me in the right direction (blog/forums) where I can get the latest updates on topics like,

- If store is coming in my country any soon? Pakistan

- We have been paying for free app submission in Windows Phone 7 marketplace. Is this model going to stay the same or will likely change for Windows 8?

- etc...

Thanks for the kind response. The blog was certainly a nice addition to the list of resources I have however I am just looking forward for any possible announcement of developer accounts for store for more countries (including mine). If it is not coming any sooner then perhaps I would spend time with WP apps than Metro, just wanna know.
