Are there any GPS units that work with the sensor and location platform? If not yet, do you know if anyone has announced plans for support on or before release of Windows 7?

As an aside, it would be great if Microsoft provided a driver for the Microsoft GPS sensor that ships with Streets and Trips.

    John,

It took a little while, but I'm pleased to let you know that a driver for the Microsoft GPS stick that comes with Streets & Trips 2009 now has a Windows 7 driver that works with the platform!

    John,

There aren't any drivers available at the moment, but we are working with the ecosystem to get them as soon as possible.  Last week, we announced support from both Qualcomm (Gobi2000) and Ericsson for their Mobile Broadband Modules.  As we have more information and drivers to share, we'll keep the forum updated.

Also, in case you haven't seen it, we released a sample Enhanced Default Location provider on the MSDN code gallery site, which allows you to set your location by clicking on a map.

Or, you can use this virtual GPS, which maps your physical location from the host IP address: http://laptoplojack.codeplex.com/.

I just created a driver that works with any NMEA compatible serial port GPS.
    See forum root for topic.
