    On my Win7 laptop a call of InitializeCriticalSection takes 15 seconds, even when the system has been restartet.

    I wonder why this call takes so long. Is it possible, that AVG Anti-Virus delays this call?

    How do you manage to start the computer, then? How long it takes?

    The problem is solved. It was another call that takes so long. InitializeCriticalSection is ok.
