I have 1 DVD writer and 1 Bluray drive. Both working normally i thing.
Win7 ultimate 64
I have try to update to the latest firmware without success. I have this "Failed to update the kernel part"
In device manager at device status i have:
" This device is working properly.
Windows did not start a related device driver. To learn more, click the Driver tab and then click Driver Details."
Any ideas to fix the problem?

Not the right forum for hardware issue, or customer issues for that matter. You need to contact the tech support for your DVD drive (or a matching community forum). They are the ones who can help.
This MSDN forum is here to help application developers with Windows' APIs.

Wednesday, December 28, 2011 8:11 AMI don't see how that isn't a Microsoft issue since it's Windows that isn't starting the drivers. I'm having a similar issue. My CD-ROM won't detect any CD's or DVD's and it say's "Device working properly, Windows did not start a related device driver". I've been trying to solve this issue for 2 years and am about to go to Apple. There is no support with Windows.
