IP Cameras Open Source SDK

hi
    I worked on PC Cameras and DirectShow Filters,I captured videos,Images thru PC Cameras,
But now I need to look on to IP Cameras, But I dont know where to start and What is the Initial Steps I have to do,
Whether I need any Special SDK other than DirectShow SDK to work in IP Cameras.

Will IP Camera comes under the VideoSource Filters Category or some other Category.If it is under some other category,in which category it will be enumerated.
