Once I Open a Application (let say I open Internet Explorer); now how to close this application?
Any hints please

Now in Windows 7 applications doesn't close, they get suspend when you switch to another application, of course it does not get resources, but if you want to close any Metro Application you can open Task Manager and end the process.
Process Explorer from Sysinternals also can help you too.

Alternatively, just use ALT+F4 to completely kill an application, I find this the best way to go about it (quicker & easier than taskmanager)

For metro apps, there is no way to close them other than to open task manager. Normal apps close as usual

I just tried the ALT+F4 and it didn't work on my 32bit Dell Netbook.
I guess were stuck with Task Manager for now.
Microsoft, please add a close App button in a corner of the screen or a charm, it can even be hidden as not to distract from the look of metro.
