Network Map feature removed?
-
Tuesday, September 20, 2011 6:11 AMHas the Network Map feature been removed in Windows 8? The Developer Preview does not seem to have it. I understand Steven Sinofsky said some UI bits are missing so I am only hoping it's that. Can someone from Microsoft clarify whether it's gone?

Thanks for replying.
First of all, I am not talking about the ability to map a network drive. I am talking about the Network Map feature in Network and Sharing Center which uses the LLTD protocol to build a map of your network. Don't know why you bring up mapping a network drive.
I am not joined to a domain, I am on a workgroup. I could turn that the setting on from Group Policy but Network and Sharing Center does not have the "Network Map" feature in the Windows Developer Preview any more.

Thursday, September 22, 2011 4:58 AMIt's my home network and I have marked it as Private. The entire section for Network Map is missing in all Windows 8 builds from Network and Sharing Center.
