Unanswered Web Platform Installer - Node.js & Windowes Azure SDK for Node.js Fail to install

I recently reformatted my machine, and re-installed visual studio and sp1 without any issues.
However trying to reinstall the - Node.js & Windowes Azure SDK for Node.js via the Web Platform Installer fails.

My Profile is on a network and I thought the may have caused the issue as the error logs seem to point to C:\Users\blowess\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Web Platform Installer.

So i took the following steps but had not luck.

    1. Uninstalled Web Platform Installer.
    2. Renamed the Web Platform Installer folder in my app data (in the hope it would sucessfully recreate the required files upon reintalling the web platform installer).
    3. Reinstalled Web Platform Installer.
    4. Tried to reinstall Node.js & Windowes Azure SDK for Node.js - got the same errors.

    Here are the error logs.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

    Hi,

It seems you have an old version of Node.js SDK for Windows Azure, would you like to check it?

If Web Platform Installation could not help, try to download .zip file from here:

    https://github.com/WindowsAzure/azure-sdk-for-node

    Hope it helps.

I do not have Node for Azure on my machine, at leat not in the following location - C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Azure.

Is this what you meant by check it?

After trying to install Node manually, I still get the same errors in Web Platform Installer, which means I wont be able to spot / apply updates via Web Platform Installer.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

When you try to install Node.js manually, you mention the same error occured, is that mean "The older version of node.js cannot be removed"?

If yes, please following this thread to uninstall Node.js and reinstall the New version.

    Hope this helps.

    Am I missing something here?

Im running windows , not linux. I thought my question made that obvious.

I still have this issue with the latest WPI and azure / node packages.
