Can't import a subscription before deploying to Azure

Question

Hi,

I am trying to deploy a sample java application to Azure using the Azure tools for Eclipse.

When I try to publish my Azure project it first opens the window where you have to enter your subscription and eveyrthing. First I use the "Download" button to get my subscription from the web, it works fine, the file downloads without any problem. But then when I use the "Import" function I get this error message:

"Importing Service de la plateforme Windows Azure pour Visual studio Ultim-6-27-2012-credentials.pulishsettings file failed.
Reason: 'C:\Program' not recognized as an internal or external command"

Obviously after that I can't proceed and can't deploy my application to Azure. I'm running Windows 7, with Eclipse 3.7.2 and all the latest updates.

I haven't messed with the integrated ecplise publishing but that file was created for Visual Studio publishing. So it might be the issue. You'd need to talk to the makers of the Eclipse plug-in (MSFT took some of these 3rd party SDK's over lately, but i'm not certain who's managing the Eclipse one).

Yeah I know the file was meant for Visual Studio but in the tutorial they use this file using the described procedure.

As you say, the bug must come from the pluging but I also don't have a clue where I could get in contact with the developers :-)

Hi,

If you’re following the tutorial on

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/hh690944(VS.103).aspx, it targets web site. So it only works for the latest Windows Azure SDK. Can you make sure you’ve installed the latest SDK from https://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/java/? You can also try to enable FTP publish. Refer to http://blogs.msdn.com/b/avkashchauhan/archive/2012/06/19/windows-azure-website-uploading-downloading-files-over-ftp-and-collecting-diagnostics-logs.aspx for a sample.

Hi,

I had the same issue. It seems that the plugin does not work well when there is a space in the eclipse path.

Removing the space has worked for me.

I also think the latest upadte of the plugin fixes this issue anyway :)
