    Hello,

Our Company is currently implementing an Metro Style application with WPF in .NET 4.0 for Windows 7 systems.

Currently we use Segoe UI Light as font, but it is not readable when the font size decreases.

So what we Need would be Segoe UI Semilight as it is available in Windows 8. Is there a Chance it will be available on Windows 7 systems?

    Thanks

You are correct. We made Segoe UI Semilight so that a light weight font could be used at smaller sizes than Segoe UI Light. Segoe UI Light really doesn't work below 20pt (@96ppi), wheras Segoe UI Semilight survives down to about 11pt. There's always a chance the font may end up on Windows 7 as part of a broadly deployed update, but we've not made any commitment to that effect. For now we'd recommend specifying Segoe UI Regular at sizes below 20pt.

Im sure there will be a need to have this font in Windows 7 too.

Although it's true that we do see Segoe UI Light used sizes that are too small, I'm not sure getting the Semilight on Windows 7 would make much difference.
