Just wondering does anybody know when i try to sign into msn it dosent work but then if i quit and restart it.It does work any suggestion would be nice

I have MSN Messenger 7.0 (because my computer only has Windows ME) and my sister has Windows Live Messenger. We can chat on line but we can not use the audio portion to hear each other speak. We could use the audio when we both had MSN Messenger but now that she upgraded to Windows Live we can no longer connect the audio portion. Does anyone know why?

hi everyone. I'm very new to C++. I installed dev c++, it works good coz I run simple program, and could receive the correct output.

Now I want to write a code to open the folder in my Desktop( How I can connect my code to this folder??). This folder including some text files (notepad). All of them has specific number in common, I want to read all this text file, find the number, and move the number to the other place ( 2 words back).
Finally save the edited textfile to the new directory.

Please help me, this assignment is due tomorow, and have no idea how to write it.

windows installer on vista 64bit

Hi, i can not seem to get my windows installer to operate, for an example i can not open adobe 9.1 or uninstall it. i have a windows vista 64bit operating system. for an example if i try to open a pdf file i get the following error "An internal error accurred". and if i try to uninstall adobe i get the following error message "The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance". i tried installing windows installer 4.5 but that did not help. please help.

What is it?

Since I don't know what it is, I probably don't need it. I searched for it but all the search results in the MSDN did not have "sandbox" in the page even though I searched for sandbox, so it is difficult to find a description of what it is. I see that in the first post of this forum (PDC video now online) there is a link to a 71-minute presentation but I think it would help people if there were a shorter textual description of what it is to help people determine if they can benefit from learning more.

Can someone please help me
I was changing antivirus programs
I uninstalled what I had and tried to install Trend Mico 30 free trail first before purchase
it wouldn't run and I had to force uninstall and then it seem to take part my windows installer with it
I can install and uninstall most programs but my computer won't let install any antivirus program I can this error message
The Window Install Service could not be accessed This can occur if Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.
I have tryed all the Windows issues fixes
can any one figure this out??

Thumbtack hasn't been available for weeks. Has it been canned? I had some good stuff in there.

By the way, I've contacted online support, phone support (Australia) and Live support and nobody seems to be able to help. They can't even give me directions to the right support team hence I'm posting here (it's the closest thing I can find to LiveLabs support).

When I first tried to sign in to windows live for my MSN I have gotten an error msg all day and it shuts down my MSN. The error msg reads "Windows Live Communications Platform has stopped working" when I check the online for a solution it only tells me "APPCRASH" and will not tell me how to resolve. Please assist me with this issue.

Live Search "freezing"

I have IE8 with Live Search in the top bar. When I try to enter a search description, I can't get beyond entering a couple of letters and then it freezes. I then get a dialogue box up which says "encountered a problem" gives a debug option. Whichever button I click on, the browser shuts down.

It can be recreated if you go to close and while the box asking you to close the windows is open you try and copy and paste from an active conversation window. The above text is what is copied and not what you had highlighted

Just an interesting bug, thought you may like to know.

Also I wouldn't have a clue if I put this in the right category so please move it to a more appropriate place if necessary

Hi,

this project looks promising to me - it addresses a complicated problem in an impressively simple to use manner.

In your documentation, unfortunately, I have not been able to find information on how to interact with foreign/trusted code from the perspective of the hosting page.

Under "Virtual Machine / Processing Model", you do mention:

"Context Sharing and Global Variables
When instantiating any code, the Sandbox can provide access to an existing shared context. This context provides the typical global scope as an isolated set of shared variables and functions. ..."

1. How can one provide such a context to a piece of foreign/trusted code? The idea would be to provide a gadget with selected information about the hosting page and/or to provide the foreign code with a possibility to call a defined method on an object that is a part of the surrounding page.

2. Likewise, it would be interesting to see, if/how the hosting page can call javascript functions defined in the foreign/trusted code. Is there a possibility to do so?

Fun and Games in the Sandbox

We just propped an update that fixes loading the blockbash.htm sample (the default URL on the sample page).

Since everyone likes games, we built two of them to illustrate the sandbox.

The first is the URL in the sandbox sample page.
The other is a little more hidden.
At the bottom of the Getting Started documentation you will find DHTML-tris.

DHTML-tris is derived from the original demo used when we releaesd DHTML back in 1994.

When viewing these demos in the Sandbox, be sure to experiment with cloning and pause/resume. Both of these capabilities are provided for free to all sandboxed code.

A quick heads-up.

If you are visiting the Live Labs Web Sandbox today (thursday) and do not have Silverlight installed, the sample pages are accidentally prompting you to install Silverlight. We have a Silverlight version of our transformation engine (the client checkbox) and its installation is entirely optional. The Sandbox sample pages will be updated today to eliminate the default prompting (rather you choose you can opt-into installing SIlverlight by clicking the "Requires Silverlight" link next to the transform via: client or server checkboxes.

This was a pretty big update:

We added a few significant performance optimizations. Array manipulations, User-defined objects and classes, and function invocation are now significantly faster.
We fixed a number of security issues. We had a bug in the prototype chain handling code that could cause native methods to accidentally leak. We also missed one scenario which allows you to perform arbitrary code execution:

Function("alert('hi')")()

There are quite a few variants of the above code:

("".toString.constructor("HI"))();

All of these should no longer be possible.
