AnswerVS2010 isolated shell - Splash screen issue

I create an isolated shell app with VS2010 SDK beta 2.

The splash screen is displayed with a black shadow around 'Powered by Visual Studio'

It looks like a mask that is not properly scaled.

I have reported the bug as https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=499190

However, it was closed promptly as 'By Design'.   Sorry, but this cannot be the desired result!!!  See the screenshots on the feedback page.

    Hi Martin,

This bug was introduced shortly before we released Beta 2, and we were not able to address it in time for the release.  The issue has been fixed.  The fix will be available in our next release.

Thank you for taking the time to report the bug, and for your diligence in following up with us.

    Hey Martin,

Thanks for reporting this.  I was the one who closed it.
The bitmap has a transparency image that doesn't show up well in low res situations and was designed for hi res machines.

What color depth are you using (and are you using a terminal server machine)?

    Hi Quan To!

My display settings are:  1680 x 1050, 32-bit color depth, 120DPI on Windows XP.

I just recreated an isolated shell using the project wizard.  I've not touched the splash screen bitmap and the result is the same.
The transparency bitmap is not scaled properly both in X and Y directions.

I could give a try a different resolutions, DPIs and OS.  BTW, VS2008 shell works well with these display settings.

    Best regards,

    Martin
