Thursday, August 16, 2012 5:50 PMWhy do I need Visual Studio 2012 if I don't plan to build Metro Apps? I was looking forward to VS2012 because I heard it was including Blend. But now I find out that its a reduced capability version of blend. It will only let you work with Windows 8 to build Metro apps. So, whats in it for me?

That is a temporary situation. The Blend + Sketchflow Preview that adds support for WPF and SL development has also been released.
And don't forget, the designer inside of Visual Studio 2012 supports all three XAML UI platforms. It is completely new and actually based on Blend technology.

Unfortunately I can't answer that question. Now that Blend is bundled with Visual Studio I would imagine so but you would have to contact Microsoft Sales to confirm that.Marco Goertz / Sr. Development Lead / XAML UI Designer / Client Platform Tools / Microsoft
