Locked why do I get Socket exceptions only on certain agents and only at certain times?

I am running a loat test for 2 hrs / 50 vusers/ 4 agents. After the run, the errors window shows that one agent which is a WIN 7 32 bit has socket exceptions.

    It has the following message

SocketException A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host...

and it is strange that it only shows the message  at four intervals of time.. 1)after 50 mins 2)after 1 hour 19 mins of start of run. There are two more exceptions around the same time. There are no more exceptions after this time. My doubts as follows:

1.Is it because of the proxy server refusing the connections( as mentioned in other posts of this forum)? If so, why did it not show the error in the later interval of time

    2. Why did not the other agents report the same problem?

Please help me with the reason why this could be happening and what would be the solution for it?

    Thanks

    Hi vs2011,

Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.

SocketException A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host...

Would you mind sharing us the detailed error message? Do you mean that if you use other Agents to run the same load test, it works well, but just this specific Agent has this issue? Whether all load tests has this issue when you use this test Agent?

It seems that it is related to your Host type. For detailed information, see How to: Specify 64-Bit Process Using Test Settings.

If there's any concern, please feel free to let me know.

    Best Regards,

    What about this problem now?

Would you mind letting us know the result of the suggestion?

The problem was always showing up on a WIN 7 32 bit agent and that too it was happening only after ceratin time after the run has started say around half an hour. All other agents did not have this issue. I have made it offline and cannot see this message anymore.

I have already enabled the Test settings for allowing test to run in 64 bit process before I started the above mentioned tests.

Please let me know why this would happen so that I can avoid this problem ?

    Hi vs2011,

    Glad to receive your reply.

I might not have the correct detailed answer you need, but I might lead you into the right direction to solve your problem.

As my previous reply, it will be better if you could share us the detailed error message. Then we could try to resolve this issue together.

If other agents work well, just this specific agent has this issue when you run the same load test, I’m afraid it is related to this agent configuration or installing. You could try to run other load test in this agent, check whether it has the same issue. Since it is hard for us to repro this issue, if possible, I suggest you try to re-install the agent and check it.

    Best Regards,
