    Sub:

I have recorded the scripts when i was inside the virtela(VPN).

I am facing some problem when i tried to run the recorded scripts in VPN.

Please go through the following points:

First I connected my local machine to the remote client machine with VPN (virtela) connection.

Then I recorded some scripts in VSTS 2008. (Please note here that I did not recorded the transaction while virtela is connecting).

Then I ran the scripts that I have recorded.

    Issue Noticed:

The script failed and was not able to connect with the remote machine.

(Request failed: The remote name could not be resolved: 'URL')

    My query:

How can we test & run the recorded scripts inside the VPN.

    Hello goraind,

Based on your description,I have got some questions to inquire, can you ping the "URL"?Does the URL server has firewalls and so on?
And you may try typing the server address in the proxy property of webtest to see if it helps or not,if not, please feel free to tell me .

Reply from *.*.*.**: Destination net unreachable.

    Hello goraind,

As you mentioned above that it is unreachable on condition that you ping the URL server inside the virtela(VPN).Obviousely it is the network problem lead to your issue. You may inquire the network administrator to resove the network problem.

    Thanks Fang, for your reply.

But inside the Virtela,i am able to access the  server (URL) through the browser(IE).
Before, you asked me about the Firewall, whether it is on or not.(I am not sure about that).

    Help me out.

    Hello,

You could try manually set the proxy property on the Web test to the proxy server that your browser uses to view Web pages.
Details about how to To specify a proxy server, please refer to the following.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms318556.aspx
Or you may create a webtest plugin that can set the proxy up for you.

And firstly you need to check that if you can ping the server successfully inside the virtela(VPN).If not,you may contact IT guys in your department to solve the network issue first.
