Query on the Register Web Article on MSDN upgrade to Premium => Ultimate at no extra cost

The Register states:

Developers on the soon-to-be canned Visual Studio 2008 Team System editions or on Visual Studio 2008 who splash out and upgrade to the Premium-level MSDN subscription before March 22 will get Ultimate at no cost when it ships. Those on Visual Studio 2008 Professional and MSDN Professional now will get Visual Studio 2010 Premium at no extra cost."

Please can Microsoft confirm whether this means that I will be able to upgrade my current "Visual Studio Professional & MSDN Professional" subscription to "Visual Studio Professional & MSDN Premium" for around the current Professional to Premium subscription upgrade cost of UK £1,300 and then automatically be upgraded at no extra cost to an MSDN Ultimate subscription?

When will this be confirmed on Microsoft's MSDN website?

I don't believe the pricing for VS 2010 has been finalized but i believe the offer you are referring to is the Ultimate Offer:

I believe VS with MSDN premeium license is under the software assurance scheme where you get free upgrade to the new version.

But as Charles mentioned we have to wait and see how the mapping of editions will be done for upgrade to VS 2010 ( the beta 2 now is offered in different flavours - Pro, premium and ultimate against Team Suite and other role based editions available for VS 2008)
