Problem uninstalling GDR 1 (GDR Version 9.1.40320.00)

Question

I am attempting to upgrade to gdr r2.

One of the steps of the installation is to uninstall gdr 1.

Uninstall any previous version of the GDR for Database Edition. To uninstall a previous version of the GDR from the command line, use: msiexec /X {DDF197C6-4507-3A19-A4B5-0E17CC931370}

My current version is:  Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition GDR Version 9.1.40320.00
I am trying to upgrade to: Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition GDR Version 9.1.40413.00

Is there an alternate method to uninstall my version of gdr?

Are you using an English or different language version of Visual Studio, the GUID is different per lanaguage.

I would ownload the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/290301 and It will list the uninstallable entries inside a list view, so you can picked it up from there.

Hi Gert,

Is there a way to identify the guid?

It definitly is english.  Might be Canadian english however.

The installer cleanup does identify the gdr with the version listed higher. 

If possible, I'd rather eliminate the gdr the proper way however.  i.e. identify the guid and run msiexec /X statement for it.

Thanks Gert,

MSIINV worked fine to identify the guid.  I succeeded in uninstalling my previous gdr version and installing gdr r2.
