Not able to install Visual Studio 2008 Database Edition GDR 2

Question

I am not able to install GDR 2.I get following message.

Visual Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition GDR does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your system. Please click the link below for more details.

 

Please advise.

No I do not have First GDR installed.This is a fresh install.

I'd suggest you to run the Visual Studio 2008 SP1 again to ensure that the Service pack bits are applied to all components of Visual Studio 2008.

You need to have Visual Studio Team System Database Edition 2008 SP1 installed before the GDR R2 installation will work.

The confusion for me was that my Studio had .NET framework SP1 installed and i was assuming that SP1 for studio was the same beast but it seems they are different. After realising this i installed SP1 for studio and then GDR R2 became unblocked. Thanks for the reply.
