Answered Programmatically navigate away from Backstage?

We have added our own controls to Excel 2010 Backstage (File tab) as part of a VSTO Add-In.  One problem we're encountering is in test automation -- specifically, how to navigate out of Backstage in a test script.

Once Backstage is selected, Excel keyboard shortcut navigation (ALT or Ctrl sequences) do not apply.

Is anyone aware of other approaches that can be taken to navigate out of Backstage and back to our Add-In tabs programmatically?

    Thanks!

    Hi Anonymous9748,

Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

I think there has only way to navigate out of backstage. That is do it manually.

    Have a good day,

    Tom

Accidentally discovered how a script (or a human) can navigate away from Backstage without the mouse:  use ESC (Escape).

    Not documented, but very useful.
