Outlook 2007 AddStore() Collapses Other PST
-

Our team has written an add-in for outlook 2007. In the add-in, we create PSTs and call Namespace.AddStore() to add the new PSTs to the store. We have noticed that, when this is done, some of the other PSTs which have their folders expanded are collapsed when AddStore() is called. This is undesireable behavior.
This issue also exists in Outlook 2010; however, applying the hotfix described in Knowledgebase Article 2598318(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2598318) resolves the issue for Outlook 2010. In fact, the article specifically calls this issue out: "After you use a macro that contains the AddStore method to add a .pst file to Outlook 2010, other .pst files that are expanded in Outlook 2010 collapse."
I need a resolution for Outlook 2007. Upgrading to Outlook 2010 is not an option.

Hi Jeffrey,
I am familiar with this issue in general. Please open a support incident and we can investigate getting a fix done for Outlook 2007 for this issue. If the product group is able to implement a fix, there's usually a 2-3 month turnaround on hotfixes before they are released as a Cumulative Update.

It's a seemingly simple question, but one without a simple answer :) I presume your company does not have a Premier support contract, so then you would need to open a "Professional" incident. Assuming you have MSDN, you may have MSDN incidents you can use to submit an incident and that's probably the easiest route. If not, you can open a Professional incident for Outlook, but just be sure to select the IT/dev options as you work your way through the options starting here: http://support.microsoft.com/ph/13615. Either way, the incident will eventually be refunded since this clearly is a bug on our side.Bill Jacob - Microsoft Customer Service & Support - Developer Messaging
