How do I obtain new projects from sourcesafe using the internet plugin from VS 2008?

Let's say you create a new project, write some code and then add it to SourceSafe. Now from a computer that connects to the SourceSafe db via the internet plug in, how do you get that project? If you start up a new solution and add an existing project, you do get an "MS Visual SourceSafe" link over on the left side of the file open dialog, but it doesn't actually do anything. It won't let you enter the URL of your VSS database and browse for the project.
How can you add the project to the solution?

This article is for VS2005. VS2008 doesn't have a "My <source control plug-in> Stores" on the left hand side of the file open dialog. It has a "Microsoft Visual SourceSafe" item you can click on, but when I do nothing comes up on the right hand side. -

That's not gonna work either. The VSS 2005 client itself doesn't use the internet plug in. You can't access a VSS db over the internet with the VSS client. -
Monday, November 30, 2009 7:55 AMYou can try using an remote access add-on tool for SourceSafe, like SourceAnywhere for VSS:Thanks,
